Who Qualifies For Your Bursary Or College Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application process.

Applications at the moment are open and may shut on fifteen December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant must meet the subsequent requirements:

• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who comes from a home with a combined gross family earnings that doesn't exceed R350 000 for each annum.

• Persons with disabilities qualify if their combined household income doesn't exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients automatically qualify for funding and need not post any evidence of income.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent residents from homes with combined R350 000 and nsfas check R600 000 for each annum.

Applicants are reminded to supply the correct Id Doc numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored inside their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds individuals who are researching or intend to research at a public university or TVET college in South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
